Hello! We are a band from Seattle Washington since 2000, but the four of us have been friends for alot longer. We all grew up in Friday Harbor Washington, on San Juan Island. During those early times, Erik and Jonas played in various highschool bands.. Jazz Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Marching Band and a few short lived garage bands( barking spiders, NiKK StriKKlin ). Greg, trumpet in hand, sat in often. Gabe screamed a bit in a band called 'the monkey fucks' and finally learned to tune a guitar while living in NYC and Olympia. Jonas homed his bass playing in Ellensburg/Olympia while playing with Iodine/TheCatIon/TheRubyDoe. Several years passed... 1998 we all found ourselves living back in Friday Harbor... So we started playing music together.. Greg aquired a Fender Rhodes, a guitar and a house so we set up camp in his living room. Lizz was in the band for a few practices. Another year passed and Jonas moved to Seattle in 1999 started a bass/drumMachine solo project Omega Supreme and was joined by Greg and Gabe in 2000. Erik ditched 'The Man' by moving to Mexico. After playing a few noise shows it was decited to give Country a go and we became 'The Jesus Chords'. We played a handful of shows between 2001 and 2002. Jason Anderson and his root beer kit took over drums for a while. We recorded our first CD with a guest drummer Greg Gilmore ( of many great seattle bands ) borrowed from Jonas' work. Erik returned to the traps in late 2002, clearing his name, and we've been together again ever since. The name was chosed after a joke about playing only simple chords like E, A or D..
